I used to feel all “ohhhhh. I wish I could be there.” But while reading tweets and hunting through Flickr for Comic Con this year, I’m thinkin’ *that’s* the way to enjoy it. The lines sound like the longest, worstest EVAR. And I’ve seen lots of disgruntled tweets about people waiting for HOURS and still not getting in to see something they longed for.
Plus, I’m not a huge fan of huge crowds.
Even so, it looks like fun. And it’s definitely fun to hear the news from there. I can’t wait to see Guillermo del Toro’s new comic, THE STRAIN, coming this fall. And I had no idea filmmaker Ridley Scott was coming out with a new film, similar to the creeptastic glory of the Alien franchise, Prometheus.
I DID Know, and am eagerly waiting for, the new TV series The Legend of Korra, or Avatar: The Legend of Korra, which is a follow-up to Avatar: The Last Airbender, which is one of my most favorite recent TV shows.
A lot of you aren’t on tumblr, so mebbe you didn’t see this example of art for Korra, which debuted at Comic Con:
Of course, I’m also looking forward to reading spectralbovine‘s upcoming recaps of Comic Con. But in the meanwhile, I’ll go back to spending too much time reading tweets, etc. Heh.
Here’s my fave pic from the con so far:

Are you and Bonnyglen not friends? You need to be friends.
Is that Melissa Wiley? I just recently found her on Twitter, but don’t really know her.
Yup. She is my dear friend and you guys have a lot of things in common, I think.
Ahhh. I have a half-memory of reading her blog occasionally, back in what I feel like was my first internet life. I think I was probably there because of you.
I shall add her blog to Google Reader.
Is she also on LJ?
Her blog is syndicated at Bonnyglen. Check it out–she has lots of pictures of SDCC.
